American conductor Andrew Gekoskie is recognized for his dynamic podium presence, imaginative programming, and unwavering commitment to artistic excellence, music education, and the advancement of contemporary orchestral music. As Music Director and Founder of the Orchestra X Project, a professional orchestra based in South Florida, he has built a reputation for creating compelling performances that seamlessly unite the great orchestral tradition with the voices of today's leading composers.

A native of Pennsylvania, Maestro Gekoskie made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2003 and has since enjoyed an active career conducting professional, collegiate, youth, and all-state orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. Recent guest conducting engagements include the Harmony Honors Philharmonia Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the New England Symphonic Ensemble at Carnegie Hall, the Utah All-State Symphony Orchestra, the Alabama All-State Sinfonia Orchestra, and the Georgia All-State 9/10 Symphony Orchestra, in addition to appearances with The Butler Symphony, The Hartt Symphony, The Winchester Orchestra, The Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, The Langley Symphony Orchestra, The Gardens Pops Orchestra, The Weiss Pops Orchestra, The Fairfax Wind Symphony, and the Minnesota Youth Orchestra.

A passionate advocate for living composers, Gekoskie has commissioned, premiered, and championed numerous new works by composers including Arturo Rodriguez, Steven Bryant, John Mackey, Richard Danielpour, Kevin Day, and Reiko Nomura. His recent Carnegie Hall performances featured both a world premiere and a United States premiere, continuing his commitment to expanding the orchestral repertoire while introducing audiences to the music of today's most compelling creative voices.

Equally recognized for his artistic leadership, Maestro Gekoskie has produced and directed major orchestral festivals and educational initiatives across North America, collaborating with internationally acclaimed conductors, composers, educators, and soloists. His innovative programming philosophy blends orchestral masterworks with contemporary music, interdisciplinary collaborations, and educational experiences that strengthen the connection between performers, audiences, and communities.

Looking ahead, his artistic initiatives for the 2027–2028 seasons include large-scale collaborative performances of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Christopher Tin's Grammy Award-winning The Drop That Contained the Sea, projects designed to unite professional musicians, students, choruses, and communities through transformative musical experiences.

A nationally recognized music educator, Gekoskie has devoted more than three decades to mentoring young musicians and developing innovative educational programs. His work has been featured on PBS, in School Band & Orchestra Magazine, and at music education conferences throughout the United States and Europe. Whether conducting professional orchestras, leading educational residencies, or presenting masterclasses, he remains committed to fostering artistic excellence while inspiring the next generation of performers and audiences.
